Harvey Samuel Wells Jr

Harvey “Billy” Samuel Wells, Jr, 87, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was the son of the late Harvey S. Wells, Sr. and Clara Smith Wells. He was also preceded in death by his son, Harvey “Buzz” S. Wells, III; his siblings, Kathleen Odenwelder, Robert “Red” Wells, and Carolyn Hile; and a son-in-law, Sonny Butler. Harvey was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company retiring after many years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harvey is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley A. Wells; daughters, Sherry W. Lewis (Buck), and Diane W. Butler; grandchildren, Joseph Priode, II., Amanda Wells, Tyler McCune, Codie Lewis, Darien Wells, and Jeffrey McCune, II.; great-grandson, Landon Priode; brother, Rudolph Wells; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
