Harvey James Williams

Harvey James Williams, 88, of Chester, VA passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Clarksville, Delaware he was the son of the late John and Blanche Williams; and two sisters, Hilda Williams and Linda Lewis. Mr. Williams was a United States Air Force veteran and retired after 20 plus years of service as a Supply Sergeant and a Weapons Specialist. He went on to spend 20 years as a technician for General Electric. He was a member of Doric Lodge # 30 A.F. & A.M. in Millville, DE, the American Legion Post #284 in Colonial Heights, VA and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Belmont Ward. He loved NASCAR, reading and playing cards. Harvey had a deep love for his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Helen Isabell Dorman Williams; two daughters, Linda Williams Melson and Leona Williams Brooks and husband, Tony; two grandchildren, Jason Eanes and Amber Ferrell; a great-grandson, River John Eanes; a sister, Grace Hitchens; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery at Amelia.
