Harvey James Williams, 88, of Chester, VA passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Clarksville, Delaware he was the son of the late John and Blanche Williams; and two sisters, Hilda Williams and Linda Lewis. Mr. Williams was a United States Air Force veteran and retired after 20 plus years of service as a Supply Sergeant and a Weapons Specialist. He went on to spend 20 years as a technician for General Electric. He was a member of Doric Lodge # 30 A.F. & A.M. in Millville, DE, the American Legion Post #284 in Colonial Heights, VA and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Belmont Ward. He loved NASCAR, reading and playing cards. Harvey had a deep love for his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Helen Isabell Dorman Williams; two daughters, Linda Williams Melson and Leona Williams Brooks and husband, Tony; two grandchildren, Jason Eanes and Amber Ferrell; a great-grandson, River John Eanes; a sister, Grace Hitchens; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery at Amelia. Condolences may be registered at
