Helen Bamber

Helen S. Bamber of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Petersburg, VA died February 7, 2004., daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Francis Orlando Strailman Sr., widow of Wilfred C. Bamber, son of Rev. R.J. Bamber, a former minister of First Christian Church, Petersburg, VA. A member of Magnolia Twig of Volunteer Services at Southside Regional Medical Center, charter member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and active in many aspects of church life for many years. Survived by her devoted daughter, Joan B. Snavely and husband Tom E. Snavely of Alexandria, VA., one granddaughter, Dawn Snavely Steadman and husband Madison C. Steadman and two great granddaughters. Visitation at J.T. Morriss & Son, Petersburg, VA., Wednesday, February 11 from 7-8:30 PM. Funeral service at 12:00 PM at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 12 with interment in Blandford Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 225 Claremont St., Petersburg, VA.
