Helen Frances Coon

Helen Frances Coon, 73, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Frances Barnhardt Massey. Helen enjoyed craft shows and spending time with her beloved family. She is survived by her husband, Gerald R. Coon; three sons, Jeff Leighty and wife, Glennis of Powhatan, Earl Leighty and wife, Laura of Dinwiddie, and Bob Leighty of Chester; four step-children, Andy Coon and wife, Marsha of Chester, Bernadette Jones and husband, Casper of Wakefield, Tom Coon and wife, Susan of Colonial Heights, and Teri Ruby and husband, Greg of Oscoda, MI; sister, Harriette Moore of Crossville, TN; brother, Charles Massey and wife, Gail of Monterey, TN; and 33 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Sunday, September 18, 2016.
