Helen Chiarky Cross

Helen Chiarky Cross, 86, of Hopewell, VA passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021. Born in Hopewell, VA she was the daughter of the late Matthew Willie and Freda Butler Chiarky; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby R. Cross; two daughters, Cheri O’Neill and Susan Cross; and a great-granddaughter, Kate Spede. Mrs. Cross retired from Honeywell after 30 plus years of service. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Hopewell where she had served as the church organist for many years. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Tiffany Spede (Michael) and Derek O’Neill; two great-grandchildren, Emma Spede and Brooklyn O’Neill; and two brothers, Ron and Dennis Chiarky and their families. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
