Helen Saunders Davidson went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, the 24th of May 2011 at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, VA.

She was born on January 7th, 1929 in Hopewell to the former Ernest H. Saunders and Maude Evans Saunders. Helen was born in the city and lived her entire life there.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Frank Davidson; three brothers, Ernest Saunders, Robert (Bobby) Saunders, and William (Billy) Saunders; and two sisters, Stella Lanning and Mahala Corbett. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Jennifer Davidson Martin.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. Aaron Davidson and his wife Linda of Petersburg, WV, and Estil Frank Davidson Jr. and his wife Janice of Enon, VA; and one daughter Mahala Davidson of Hopewell, VA. She is also survived by one brother, Dennis Saunders and his wife of Kerrville, TX; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Helen was a homemaker most of her life, but she also worked in two nursing homes in her older years. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved the Lord with all her heart. Another of her passions was baking and cooking for others when she was able.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Hopewell, Virginia. The funeral service will be in the chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 1 P.M., with the Rev. Gleason Dale officiating. The final interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia.
