Helen Louise Gounaris, 88, of Rockville, MD passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
She was born August 30, 1930 in Petersburg, VA, daughter of the late Daniel Cassidy and Elva (Pollard) Cassidy. Helen enjoyed a lengthy career with the Washington Post, and was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She will surely be missed.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Joe) Biser; and brother, Donald (Linda) Cassidy of Crossville, TN. She is also survived by her grandchild, Nicole Biser.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Peter Gounaris; brothers John Cassidy, Jerry Cassidy, and sister Brenda Wahl.
Funeral services will be held at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, VA on December 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
