Helen Kweller

Helen Terpsithea Hnarakis Kweller, born March 22, 1935, in Hopewell, VA, stepped into eternity peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2010. Helen was the beloved wife of Esher R. Kweller of Derwood MD, and loving and proud mother of Caroline J. Cherry and David A. Kweller. She was the youngest of seven children and a graduate of Hopewell High School in 1954. Helen is survived by her husband; her son David; her daughter and son-in-law- Caroline and David T. Cherry of Bethesda MD; her siblings, Gus Hnarakis of Pulaski, VA, Mary Saunders of Ruffin, SC, and Katherine Perelas of Reston, VA. Surviving family members in the area include a nephew, Michael Armstrong; and nieces, Valerie Byrum, Elaine King, and Mary Katherine Gay. She was preceded in death by her sister, Freda Armstrong, of Hopewell, and brothers George and Harry Hnarakis. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, November 6, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Doctors Without Borders USA at PO Box 5030 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
