Helen Vrable Wagner of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at her residence. Born in Prince George County, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary Kovaly Vrable. She lived in Petersburg for many years and was an active member of the Church of the Sacred Heart where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and participated in numerous other church activities. She was a volunteer with the Southside Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Wagner; four brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her nieces, Pearl H. Griggs, Dorothy C. Tyrcha, Elizabeth H. Clements, Virginia C. Grammer, Lucille H. Edwards, Betty C. Rowland, and Gloria C. Robinson. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Church of the Sacred Heart with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery. A Christian Wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral.
