Henry Otha Brankley, 86, of Chesterfield, passed away at home with his family on May 17th, 2016. Born in Skipwith, VA, he was the son of the late Jacob Davis Brankley and Annie Faucette Brankley. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Brankley, Jim Brankley, Harrell Brankley, and Bill Brankley; and sisters, Adelaide Brankley and Martha “Polly” Sodat. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Agnes Toombs Brankley. They were married in Chase City, VA on July 1st 1950. Henry is lovingly remembered by his son, Henry Duane Brankley; daughter, Diane Brankley Zimmerman (Frank); granddaughter, Tabitha Marie Zaun (Scott); grandson, Matthew Jacob Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Ryan Carter Zaun and Brayden Davis Zaun; brother, Thomas Allen Brankley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry was a proud Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Master Mason of Chester Lodge No. 94 and a Union Member of I.U.O.E. #147 for 67 years. Henry was a faithful member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to yard sales and tending to his prized garden. His greatest passion was his family and loved his great-grandsons dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the neighbors, extended family, friends and New Century Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
