Henry Guthrie

Henry Lewis Guthrie, age 79, of Chester, VA died Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was born in Roanoke, VA. He retired from Allied Chemical where he worked as a millwright in the Fibers Division. Mr. Guthrie was also a U. S. Army Veteran. He is survived by a wife of 57 years, Bernice Guthrie; three children, Sharon Guthrie, Henry L Guthrie, Jr. and wife Sherry, and Lisa Valvo and husband Mark; three grandchildren, Whitney Guthrie, Jenna Guthrie and Daniel Valvo, all of Chesterfield, VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chesterfield J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service where funeral services will follow on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp 4500 Adamâ??s Way Randleman, NC 27317 or to St Judeâ??s Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38205-1942.
