Henry Edward "Pete" Walker

Henry Edward "Pete" Walker, 78, of Disputanta, VA, passed away in the early morning hours of December 24th, 2024. Henry was born in Mecklenburg, NC, to the late John Walker and Delia Rose Thomas, he was the youngest of nine children.

Pete is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Liz, of 33 wonderful years. His brother, Emmit Walker (Emma); his daughters, Jayne Poehler (Jeff), April Johnson (Jerry), Maryanne Dean (Trip), and Brandi Newman (Mike); his chosen son, Tom Miles (Kristi); and his fur baby, Filo. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pete and Liz raised two nephews, Dustin & Quinton Shurman.

Pete was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. As a child, Pete worked alongside his brothers and sisters on the family farm. At age 14, he left the farm to pursue his dream of becoming a mechanic and having a family of his own. Pete would become a master mechanic (27 years) and later changed his career to a machinist working for Hon Company & Stamptec (25 years) before retiring to enjoy fishing at Tyler Beach, gardening, riding four-wheelers, and enjoying time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
