Henry Weston

d. June 15, 2005

Henry Clay ?Buddie? Weston of Fort Myers, Florida, died peacefully at Hospice House, North Fort Myers, Florida on June 14, 2005, after an extended illness. Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC on February 27, 1918, he was the son of Charles and Pearl Weston. Buddie was a dedicated, career professional of Hercules, Inc in Hopewell, VA from 1935-1977. During his growth within the Hercules Family he represented the company in many continuing education environments that enhanced his devotion to meeting the company?s mission. His personal sacrifices and contributions to the success of the refrigeration, hydraulics and related maintenance functions of the plant were significant. Throughout his life, Buddie cared deeply about people, young and old, and openly expressed his courtesy and congeniality for his fellow man. His open and cordial personality served as a greeting for those who confronted him in his second career as a Security Guard at his gated community of the last 22 years. Routinely, he was praised for his superb customer service skills and agility. He was known throughout his residential complex as the ?Southern Gentleman?. The signature of his Floridian lifestyle was customer service. A former Boy Scout Master of Troop 927 at St. James in Hopewell, VA, he served as a community leader who was a positive role model for the many youth that pursued scouting during the 1950s through the 1960s. This was a family trait that was paramount for he and his brother, the late Lee R. Weston, a former member of the Hopewell City Council. Together they forged many successful futures for the youth of Hopewell and surrounding areas. Buddie is survived by his devoted and comforting wife, Gina of 64 years, his sons and their wives, Wayne and Nancy of Charlotte, NC, Greg and Teresa of Prince George, VA and his beloved grandchildren Shea, Joe, Jereny, Jon and step-grandchildren, Wendy and Kelly. Also he leaves behind sisters, Pauline and Edith of Hopewell and Jerline of Southern Pines, NC. Additionally, he leaves several nieces and nephews.
