Hercie Earl Bell

Hercie Earl Bell, 91, of Wilsons, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Howard and Nina Estep Bell; son, Terry W. Bell, Sr.; granddaughter, Rachel Hawley; and two sisters, Docie Morrison and Irene Bias. Hercie retired from Hercules as Superintendent after 26+ years of service. He was a veteran of WWII. Hercie was a farmer who could fix just about anything he touched. He did woodwork and created many of his own pieces of furniture. He was a hardworker, loved spending time outdoors, and would put anyone before himself, especially his beloved family. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda B. Birchett; granddaughter, Crystal D. Bell (David Neisz); three grandsons, Terry W. Bell, Jr., Ricky Birchett and Robbie Birchett; eleven great-grandchildren, Trenton Jackson, Kyra Jackson, Natalie Jackson, Madison Bell, Landon Bell, Johnny Hock, Trey Birchett, Justin Hawley, Kaitlyn Birchett, Madeline Birchett, and Robert Birchett, Jr.; brother, Reverend Oshel Bell (Rosemary); sister, Opal Baylous; dear and special friend of 20+ years, Sarah Gibbs; and many other loving extended family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
