Herman Gilbert Doyle

Herman Gilbert Doyle, 87, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late William Henry and Lalla Whitby Doyle. Mr. Doyle served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a retired Optician. He was a member of Ocran United Methodist Church and POGO (Petersburg Old Geezers Organization.) He is survived by his wife, Virginia P. Doyle; sons, Bill Perrot of Nova Scotia, Canada, and Bob Perrot and wife, Joan of Moseley, VA; daughter, Kathy P. Rainey of Prince George; grandchildren, Brandon G. Perrot, Julie C. Perrot, Erin R. Rainey, Sarah K. Rainey, and Katelyn E. Rainey; two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruby D. Dudley of Petersburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29th at Ocran United Methodist Church, Sutherland, VA, with The Reverend Larry House officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
