Herman Finley Holt Jr.

Herman Finley Holt, Jr., 84, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman F. Holt, Sr. and Lottie Knowles Holt, wife Dorothy M. Holt, son Kenneth Lee Holt; and one brother, Charles B. Holt. He was a retiree from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Herman was a member of West End Baptist Church and loved softball, bowling and coaching children in bowling. He is survived by his son, Donald W. Holt; daughter, Peggy H. Sutton; five grandchildren, Meagan Holt, Melissa Holt, Jennifer Walker, Thomas Sutton, and James T. Holt; six great-grandchildren, Collin, Sanora, Joseph, Kayla, Dylan, and Cayce; and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Long. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
