Herman Eugene "Gene" Wells

June 14, 1928 — August 24, 2016

Herman Eugene “Gene” Wells, 88 of Colonial Heights, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Thomas and Susie Walton Wells, wife Jacqueline Shortt Wells, four brothers and two sisters. He was a lifetime member of the Southside Virginia Emergency Crew and a member of Highland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his career of 63 years selling American made cars and trucks. Gene is survived by two daughters, Linda W. Adams and husband, Billy and Donna W. Rohde and husband, Bill; three grandchildren, Christy A. Peterson and husband Kevin, Cathy A. Massino and husband, Mike and Jackie Silvestro and husband, Dimitri; six great-grandchildren, two nephews and his best friend, Harry Baird. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Mausoleum at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, P.O. Box 574, Petersburg, VA 23804.
