Hettie Pauline Hudson

Hettie Pauline Hudson, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnett Turner Ray, Sr., and Pauline Reynolds Ray; son, Bradford S. Brady; grandson, Cory A. Brady; and six sisters and one brother. Hettie attended Calvary Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class. She played on the women’s VFW Slow Pitch Softball Team until she was 52 years old. She was also a 27 year survivor of breast cancer. She worked for Hopewell Builder’s Supply for many years and Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan prior to that. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry B. Harris and husband, Wayne, and Crystal B. Wade and husband, Ronald; son, Charles A. Brady, Jr., and wife, Vickie; loving companion, Warren Scott; seven grandchildren, Ryan Harris, Allison Krumpe, Allan Harris, Tommy Wade, Stefanie Vrana, Chuck Brady and Paul Brady; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Pat Ray and wife, Margaret; and sister, Rosemary Freeman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery.
