Hilda Gray White Mosbey, 74, of Sutherland, VA., died on June 25, 2012 at her residence.
She was born December 16, 1937, in Whiteville, N.C. She was the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Leona Gore White, and late stepmother, Lillian Norris White. She was a graduate of Williams Township High School near Whiteville N.C., a graduate of Miller Mott Business College, Wilmington, and a graduate of St. Leo University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
Mrs. Mosbey loved the Lord and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Whiteville, N.C., and attended Crowder Memorial Baptist Church in Petersburg (now New Life Baptist Church). She was employed 27 years with Brenco Incorporated, Petersburg, VA. She was the Manager of International/National Customer Service and Sales, traveling to may countries outside the United States, and later became Manager of Export Sales & Logistics concentrating exclusively on Brencoâ??s International business segment and assuming a direct role in sales efforts overseas.
Mrs. Mosbey was also active in the local chapter of the Quota Club International and served as president for several years as well as other offices and traveled to many of the conventions abroad.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, C. Elroy and T. Ray White of Elizabethtown, NC.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darryl C. Mosbey, retired Sr. Detective with the Petersburg Police Department and the United States Air Force, of the home; one daughter, Diane Mosbey Paarfus and husband, Tom of Prince George, VA; granddaughter, Tiffany C. Taylor of Prince George, VA.; two step-grandsons, Samuel T. Paarfus and Brandon L. Paarfus; a sister, Alice White Lane and husband Joe of Holden Beach, NC; four brothers, Willard White and wife, Luvenia of Whiteville, NC, Charles White and wife, Rosalie of Burgaw, NC, Jerome White and wife, Rosa of Clarkton, NC, Dale White and wife, Freda of Elizabethtown, NC; one brother-in-law, Henry Mosbey and wife, Shirley of Huntingdon, PA.; numerous nieces and nephews; and two loyal caregivers, Gloria Thweat and Christina Walker.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home, 103. S. Adams St., Petersburg, VA, with Pastor Joe Elmore, of New Life Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
