Hildaguard Goodman Dias

Hildaguard Goodman Dias, 68, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Born in Big Stone Gap, VA, she was the daughter of the late Virley Chandler, Sr. and Georgia Chandler; and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Virley Chandler, Jr. and Delmar Chandler, Sr. Mrs. Dias had retired from John Randolph Medical Center after many years of dedicated service. She had a deep love for her family and will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Dias; two daughters, Melissa J. Goodman and Jessica M. Goodman; one sister, Virginia Yarbrough (Robert); a niece, Rachel Yarbrough (Stephen Fotis); two nephews, Delmar Chandler, Jr. and Eric Chandler; devoted friends, Ann and Fred Bohlander and Ben and Melanie Marks; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Hildaguard Dias.
