Hilma Mccandless

Hilma Bailey McCandless, 85, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010. Born in Beargrass, NC, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh C. and Icelene Davenport Bailey. Mrs. McCandless was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Barber and a brother, Lester Barber. She is survived by her husband, Gordon L. McCandless; son, Melvin McCandless and wife, Janice; daughter, Barbara Jellison and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Jason McCandless and Sonya Hardison and husband, Stuart; step-grandchildren, Chuck, Jeff and Dwain Billmyer; brothers, Dallas Barber and Jasper Barber; sister, Mary Myers. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 13th, at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA. The family will receive friends after the service.
