Hiram "Pat" Stanley Mcalister

Hiram “Pat” S. McAlister, 95, of Chester, VA, died on April 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Anita Maria Bauer McAlister. Pat is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jackie Craft Tingler McAlister; son, Gary McAlister (Tricia); daughter, Monica Clark (Jim); step daughters, Rhonda Hall (Denard) and Pam Spilman (Glenn); step sons, Rick Tingler (Kim) and Jeff Tingler (Angie) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pat served in the United States Army, retiring as Sergeant First Class, from 1944 to 1966. He honorably fought in both WWII and the Korean War. On leaving the military, he enjoyed a career for Chesterfield County Public Schools, as a Storekeeper Supervisor. He was a member of the church choirs for St. Ann Catholic Church and Wesley United Methodist Church and volunteered at food pantries. Pat enjoyed walking, woodworking, singing and dancing. He was a devoted husband and father and loving grandfather and great grandfather.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 15, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church. The family will receive family and friends an hour prior to mass. Interment will follow at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
