Holliss Ann Lithgow Ferrell

Holliss Ann Lithgow Ferrell, loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother died Sunday the 18th of June, 2017 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Holly is survived by her mother Virginia Margaret Lithgow, husband, Wilson Maclin Ferrell Sr., son Scott Riley Mohajeri Norris (Emily), daughter Amy Christine Norris, stepdaughter Molly Ferrell Lynde, stepson Wilson Maclin Ferrell Jr. (Susan), first husband David Leroy Norris, grandchildren Bennett Ross Lynde, Wilson Epperson Lynde, Anne Maclin Ferrell, Wilson Withers Ferrell, Liam Maxwell Norris, Theodore Faizi Norris, Cole Hyatt Ferrell, Elliot Na’im Norris, one great grandchild Luke Ellison Smith as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their children. Holly is survived by her sisters Carol Jean Smithson (Rodney), Noel Joan Storm (Dale), and Margaret Susan Bucher (Joseph). She is preceded in death by her father William Carroll Lithgow and her brother Douglas Scott Lithgow.
Raised in Aurora, IL Holly received her Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University. A proud, talented, and giving lifelong teacher, Holly taught in Okinawa, Japan; Bollingbrook Day School in Petersburg, VA; and in Prince George County Schools. She graced numerous young lives. Holly loved to be with her family and friends. She was beyond generous with her time and talent in making spectacular cakes, creating costumes for school plays, her beautiful voice and musical abilities, cross stitched gifts, sewing, antiques, and was always willing to give of her time and effort to any organization. The family would like to recognize the superb care given by Holly’s caretakers, Ms. Priscilla Butts and Ms. Denise Price. The family will receive friends and family at the residence Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22,, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ and Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg, VA 23805. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803. Condolences will be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
