Howard William Mattis-Sprouse, Jr. (also known as Lou), passed away on September 21, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on March 25, 1968, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and raised in Petersburg. He worked for Ruby Tuesdays but was known for his many years of service at Golden Corral where he met his husband Duone and together they lived and raised their many pups. Will’s love of movies of all types but mostly horror especially Jaws 2, was usually shared with his many friends and family, and was only outweighed by his love for dogs. Will spent the last years of his short life happily married and truly loved. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy of unconditional love for all living things: Husband, Duone Mattis-Sprouse; Parents, Howard and Deloris Sprouse; Sister, Tammy Sprouse Banton; Nephews, Randy “RJ” Banton, Brett Banton, Jerome Rice, Alexander Mattis, and Ralph Nader; Nieces, Monnie Mattis and Eunisha Tucker; Brother-In-Law, Randy Banton; Sisters-In-Law, Karen Hicks, Eunice Mattis and Rhonda Nader. Extended family, Jeri Ann, Billy and Kaitlyn Tomlin, Jerry and Diane Flowers, Melody and Steve Eilert, Edith, Jessica and Michael Briggs along with too many family and friends to name. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 3rd at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son and the family will receive friends one hour prior.
