Howard Benton Penley, 3rd, 68, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born in Lynchburg, VA, and was preceded in death by his father, Howard Benton Penley and his mother, Louise Tolley Penley Blaha. Howard had an immense love for music, especially the guitar. As a young man, he was voted “Best Guitarist in Virginia.” He worked as a professional photographer since 1989. He always felt proud to serve the Fort Lee community and enjoyed meeting the many soldiers there. Howard is survived by his wife, Sylvia Penley; daughter, Tammy Brimer; son, Howard B. Penley, IV; grandson, Daniel Bost, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
