Howard Randolph Robertson Jr.

Howard Randolph “Randy” Robertson, Jr., 74, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Born in Matoaca, VA, he was the son of the late Howard R. Robertson, Sr. and Georgie G. Williams. Randy was employed with Dinwiddie Health Department retiring after many years of service. He was a passionate civil war historian and member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Dearing Beauregard Camp. Randy was a life-long member of Matoaca United Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, Howard R. Robertson, III (Melissa); daughter, Kimberly E. Hargrove; former spouse and special friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Robertson; grandchildren, Alex C. Hargrove and Olivia N. Hargrove; special friends, Royce and Phyllis Nevetral; and beloved dog, Sally. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Matoaca United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
