Howard Sherman

Howard Lewis Sherman, 56, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011. He was a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Sherman greatly enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and working with stained glass. He worked for twelve years as a mechanic at Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility in Hopewell, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard H. Sherman. Mr. Sherman is survived by his mother, Loris D. Sherman of Chester; his wife of twenty-eight years, Sandra Jones Sherman of Prince George; a son, Ian Ross Sherman of Hopewell; sisters, Christy Collins of Colonial Heights, Bonnie Daniel and husband Alton of Chester, Bernina Pearson and husband Harry Jr. of Hopewell, and Lorie Jo Jones and husband Jimmy of Chester; mother-in-law, Sylvia Jones of Prince George; father-in-law, Clarence Jones of Prince George; and brother-in-law, Glenn Jones of Prince George; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Debra Carter and Rev. Kenny Carter officiating.
