Hugh Victor Benner

Hugh V. Benner, age 66, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 05, 2020 due to longstanding medical complications from diabetes, congestive heart failure, heart attack, kidney failure, stroke and infectious Sepsis. He was born July 20 1953 in Hampton, Virginia to Incoronata G. and (ret.) Hugh R. Benner. He married his love, Kyong A. Benner, on 13 October, 1993 in South Korea.
Hugh served his country as Milliary Police in the U.S. Army for seven years to which he eventually transitioned and continued to serve his country as civil service. He dedicated his work to the world of logistics, a five-time recipient of the Supply Excellent Award during in charge of SP60, CIF and he retired in 2018 as the Director of Logistics at Fort Lee, Virginia with a combined total time in service of 29 years and 6 months.
He went to preschool in Florence, Italy and Junior and Senior High school at Walsingham Academy, Williamsburg, Virginia, graduated in Denbigh High School, Newport News, Virginia. and Virginia Military Institute.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Kyong A. Benner formerly a federal employee at Fort Lee, Virginia and their son Hugh J. Benner, currently serving as a Medical Service officer at Fort Bragg, NC, his sister Patrizia Benner Smith, and his nephew Daniel Smith. As well as his friends and co-workers, Bob White, Kenneth Bolton, Glenn Fields, Scott Brown, Patty Parents and many more....
Tremendous and heartfelt thanks to the Davita-Hopewell dialysis staff who took great care of him, Dr Hong Jun, his vascular Surgeon at the Southside Medical Center, and all the nurses and doctors at the Chippenham Hospital.
