Ida Lou Boykin, 89, of Hopewell died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Boykin was a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church and was proud to be a military wife during World War II and Korea. She enjoyed her church, gardening, cooking and walking at Southpark Mall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Boykin, Jr. and her son, Billy C. Boykin. Mrs. Boykin is survived by her daughters, Linda Hicks and husband, Bill and Deb Boykin and husband, Jim Goggin; grandchildren, Sherri Eaker, Rob Temple, Amanda Emerson, Corey Goggin, and Brady Goggin; five great grandchildren; brother, E.P. Quick and numerous loving church friends. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Dr. Alex Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service until 5 pm.
