Claude Acree “Jim” Brister, II, 75, of Mathews County, VA, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004. Born in Colonial Heights, he was the son of the late Claude Acree and Sarah Keirsey Brister. After attending the University of Virginia, he served in the U. S. Army and worked in architecture for many years in the Richmond area. Mr. Brister is survived by three daughters, Candice Armentrout and husband, Jay of Richmond, Laura Blackburn and husband, Joe of Midlothian, and Amy Smith and husband, Will of Mathews; grandchildren, Lindsay Blackburn, Andrew Blackburn, Aaron Armentrout, Ryann Smith, and Noah Smith. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the home of Laura and Joe Blackburn, 12612 Dawnridge Ct., Midlothian.
