Ii. F. "Sonny" Merritt

Walter F. â??Sonnyâ? Merritt II, 66, died April 1, 2012. Sonny was born in Hopewell, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Merritt, and his mother, Lois Nichols Merritt. He was an active and loyal member of Millwright Local 1402 located in Richmond for 50 years. He was a loving, caring and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Sonny is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith Merritt; daughters, Laura L. Merritt, Mary N. â??Nikkiâ? Merritt, and Beth M. Hensley; grand-daughters, Samantha and Shae Hensley.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 2, 2012, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tues, April 3, 2012, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park; T. R. Smith Jr., officiating.
