Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Hicks, Jr., his grandmothers, Lula W. Moore and Susie Wheelhouse and his grandfathers, John D. Moore and Joseph B. Joe assisted in establishing the local Ducks Unlimited Chapter. Joe also worked with the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries gathering Shad eggs trying to re-establish the American Shad in our Rivers.
