Richard Taylor Wilson, III, 79 of Prince George died December 19, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Judge Richard Taylor Wilson and Julia Meade Patterson Wilson and a sister Elizabeth Osborne Wilson Hitch. Mr. Wilson was a native of Petersburg, graduated from Petersburg High School, University of Virginia and Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wilson was active in local civic affairs and participated in numerous charitable organizations. Except for three years as a clerk of the Circuit Court of Petersburg, his career was in banking, retiring as a Vice President of the present SunTrust Bank. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lively Wilson; daughter, Elizabeth Wilson Ross and husband David; three sons, Richard Taylor Wilson, IV and wife Camellia, William Lively Wilson and wife Lisa, John Patterson Wilson and wife Kelly; six grandchildren, David Brent Ross, Jr., William Taylor Wilson, Barbara Celia Wilson, Meredith Wilson Ross, Elizabeth Meade Wilson and John Patterson Wilson, Jr., two sisters, Helen Wilson Cover and Julia Meade Ferguson and husband John. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Blandford Cemetery. Family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
