Iii., Travis Nicol

James Travis Nicol, III, 72, of Burrowsville, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011. He served in the United States Navy during peacetime, and worked as a farmer. He was a charter member of the Burrowsville Ruritan Club as well as the Burrowsville Fire Department. Mr. Nicol was preceded in death by his parents James Travis Nicol, Jr., and Elva May McCoy. He is survived by his sons, James W. Nicol and wife Cindy of Hopewell, Robert T. Nicol and wife Sandy of Prince George, John S. Nicol and wife Harvia of Burrowsville, and Mark D. Nicol and wife Susann of Chester; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; and a special friend, Margie Scarborough of Newville. Funeral services will be held at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, May 9, 2011; interment will follow the services at Brandon Episcopal Church Cemetery in Burrowsville, Virginia.
