Ila Mae Eddins, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 24, 2008 at her home in Prince George County. She was a former resident of Dinwiddie County for over 45 years. She was born August 1, 1930 in Tabor City, North Carolina, daughter of the late Milton B. and Venie Strickland Nealey. Mrs. Eddins was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ira David Eddins Jr; two sons, David Junior Eddins and infant son Wayne; two grandsons, Donald Millis, Jr. and Douglas â??Dinkâ? Eddins; brothers, Francis Nealey, Harvey Nealey, Thomas Nealey and Earl Nealey. She is survived by her children, Doris Cairnes and her husband, Jim, Douglas Eddins and his wife, Patricia all of Dinwiddie; Betty Rhodes and her husband, Claiborne, Joyce Millis and her husband, Donnie all of Prince George, Patricia Ellis and her husband, Jack of Hopewell; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, Robert Nealey; sisters, Mary Belle Call, Esterline Wallace, Linda Coleman, Eunice Lunsford, Joan Linticum and Peggy Cole. Funeral services will conducted 2:00 pm Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
