Imogene P Boyette

Imogene P. Boyette, 79, of Hopewell, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2023. She was born on February 1, 1944, in Bath County, Virginia. The daughter of the late Edgar & Lucille Puffenbarger. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Boyette, of 52 years; her sons, Jerry Andrew Boyette and Charles Boyette; and a sister, Jewell Ellison. Imogene worked at Firestone in Hopewell, Virginia, and Holiday Inn in Chester, Virginia. She was a volunteer for many years at John Randolph Hospital. She was a member of First Congregational Christian Church, where she served as an Usher and was a faithful member. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23. She loved flowers, crocheting, and making pineapple upside down cakes. Imogene was devoted to her family and church. She is survived by her sister, Libbie Ginger; daughter, Janice Nelson, of North Carolina; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nephews. A devoted and loving friends/care takers, Peggy S. Hamilton, of Hopewell, VA, and Cathy Layne, of Hopewell, VA. She leaves behind two special people Magdalene (Boo) Jones and her devoted and lifetime friend that shared a room with at Appomattox on the River, Mildred (Rose) Rawlings. Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm, with the service at 3:00 pm, at First Congregational Christian Church, 306 Memorial Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia.
