Inez Jackson Durphey, 95, of Center Line, Michigan, died peacefully on May 4, 2006, at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born November 19, 1910, to Charles & Bessie (Moody) Jackson, in Butterworth, Virginia. Mrs. Durphey was a homemaker who was instrumental in the move of ther family from Virginia in 1951 to Michigan, to be near the Bethesda Missionary Temple, where she attended Bible College. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Annette Durphey of East Pointe, MI; a son Robert W. Durphey, Sr., of LaBelle, FL; daughter Ann (Glenn) Finley of Washington Township, MI; a daughter Deborah (Robert) Bush of Clinton Township, MI; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and one â??great-greatâ?; two sisters Evelyn (Nitty) Gibbs and Joyce Garrett of Colonial Heights, and numerous nieces and nephews in Virginia and California. She was predeceased by husband, William H. Durphey, Sr., son, William H. Durphey, Jr., granddaughter, Shannon Durphey, daughter-in-law, Louise Durphey, brothers, Ivan, Charles, Eldred, Elmer and John Thomas Jackson, sister, Mary Bowman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 from 7-8:30 pm at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home where chapel services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00 am with Reverend Mary White, Pastor of Blandford Methodist Church, officiating.
