Inez Starkey

Inez Sturkey Starkey 85, of Hopewell passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Maggie Berry Sturkey; husband, Roy Starkey; daughter, Sylvia Friesenhahn; son, David â?? Bubbaâ? Bowe; sister, Virginia Brinkley; brothers, David Sturkey, Clarence Sturkey, and Marion Sturkey.
Inez is survived by daughter, Carolyn Juanita Harris and her husband David; grandchildren, Melody Buffo ( Ted), Diana Littrell ( I. B.), Susan Friesenhahn, Richard Friesenhahn (Pam), Steven Friesenhahn (Tammy), Teddy Friesenhahn (Chana), Kenny Bowe (Sandy), Lisa Houchin (Donnie), Michelle Bowe; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special
daughter â??in-law Pat Bowe; brother, W.C. Sturkey, Ed Sturkey, Frank Sturkey, Thomas Earl Sturkey; her Arizona and Maine family; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Inez retired from the Hopewell High School cafeteria as the â??Ice Cream Ladyâ? after numerous years of service. She was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday August, 2, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A service will be held 10 am on Wednesday, August, 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
