Ira Jr. Hepburn

Ira Spurgeon Hepburn, Jr. age 81, of Chesterfield, VA died on Monday, March 12, 2007. He was born in Richmond, VA, on March 30, 1925, the son of the late Ira S., Sr. and Marion Virginia Cogbill Hepburn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katherine Davis Hepburn; a son, David H. Hepburn and wife Holly of Lynchburg, VA; a daughter, Barbara H. Mayfield of Chesterfield; and step-daughter, Carolyn McAndrew and husband Kenneth of Georgetown, TX. Ira was also the loving grandfather to four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Mr. Hepburn served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was retired from civil service at Fort Lee, Petersburg, VA. Ira was an avid fox hunter, and truly enjoyed the outdoors. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. A private funeral service will follow there at a later date.
