Irene Blankenship

Irene Otelia Blankenship, 89, of Church Road, widow of Ollie W. Blankenship, died Friday, March 24, 2006 in Waverly Health Care Center. She was born in Chesterfield and was preceded in death by her parents, Justin and Sadie Elder Childress and two daughters, Barbara B. Clary and Dorothy B. Mitchem.. She is survived by four daughters, Patricia B. Lucas and husband David of Church Road, Virginia B. Pollard of Richmond, Sherry B. Everhart and husband, Dan of East Bend, NC and Peggy J. Elam of Chester; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Alice Terry of Waverly. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service today (Sunday) from 4 to 6 p.m. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park.
