Irene Horner Highsmith, 81, of Hopewell, widow of Maurnice Edward Highsmith, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006. A lifelong resident of Hopewell, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jennings Horner and Cora Boettcher Horner Chester. Together with her husband, Mrs. Highsmith operated the Red Front Meat Market in Hopewell before working as a bookkeeper with Strosnider Chevrolet. She also volunteered with Shepherdâ??s Place for a number of years. Surviving are her daughters, Pamela H. Alley and husband Bob of Richmond, Dianne H. Trail and husband Ronnie of Hopewell and grandson Brandon M. Trail of Midlothian. Mrs. Highsmithâ??s remains rest at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service where a funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered at
