Iris Royster Mitchell

Iris Royster Mitchell, 80, of Dinwiddie, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Emma Crenshaw Royster; and husband, Allan B. Mitchell. She is survived by three children, Janet M. Campo, Jeffrey A. Mitchell and Michael L. Mitchell (Delila); six grandchildren, Jody A. Bendall (Crystal), Melissa B. Levy (Frank), Brian A. Mitchell, Kerry L. Mitchell, Brandon L. Mitchell and Dennis Burnette (Hannah); three great-grandchildren, Kayla B. Rayner, Grayson M. Levy and Nevaeh S. Burnette; sister, Shirley R. Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Crater Community Hospice for their kindness and caring support. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
