After retiring from the steel mill, Ivan spent the next 30 years doing what he loved most, building. From windmills to houses, he was happy building anything! He and Lenore relocated to Chester, VA 8 years ago to be near family. Ivan was a proud Mason and Shriner. His hobbies included camping, fishing, bowling, golfing and poker with the guys. He was a sweet man, who always cared for those in need and had a soft spot for animals. He loved his friends and family fiercely and will be missed by all who knew him. Donations in his honor can be made to the Shriners Hospital or your local SPCA. Cards for the family can be sent to his daughter, Debra Cardwell, in care of Ironbridge Baptist Church, 10900 Ironbridge Road in Chester, VA 23831. J.T.
