J. Murphy

J. P. Murphy, age 68, of Chester, passed away January 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. and Betty Farrell Doyle. J. P. was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed shooting as well as being a life long member of the N.R.A. He is survived by his sons, Jan â??Jayâ? Phillip Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Kim of Herndon, VA, and Jon J. Murphy and his wife Marcia of Reading, PA; his grandchildren, Andrew Shuman, and Katelyn and Erin Murphy; and former wife and devoted friend, Rosemary Price. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions are made to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030, or to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. A memorial service will be held in Mr. Murphyâ??s honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
