Jack Dempsey â??JDâ? Harris 67 of Hopewell, died Monday, June 19, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Saltville, Virginia. Mr. Harris was a retired self-employed Auto Body Repairman. He was preceded in death by his parents Preston and Mary Roarke Harris. Surviving are his wife Rose Marie Bryant Harris of Hopewell, a son, Billy J. Harris of Hopewell, daughter, Sherry L. Evans & husband George of Richmond, a grand-daughter, Gabrielle L. Evans of Richmond, Step-Father, Charles Pauley of Roanoke, a sister, Geneva Akins of Greer, SC two brothers, Truman Harris of Hopewell, Ted Pauley of Surry Co., Va. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 21, 2006 from 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 10:00AM in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, with Rev. Ivan Perkinson, officiating.
