Jack Parrish

Jack Parrish, 75, of Chester went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Parrish, Jr. and Virginia Spain Parrish and a daughter, Lisa Kaye Parrish. Mr. Parrish graduated from MCV School of Pharmacy in 1956. He served as an umpire and a coach with Chester Little League. He owned and operated Chester Drugs for 29 years. After his retirement in 1995, he was called by the Lord to pursue a ministry for feeding the poor. Mr. Parrish attended Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley A. Parrish; his children, Dr. Steven Parrish and his wife, Barbara; Kelly Smith and her husband, Christopher; and Tracy Robinson and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Jake Parrish, Carley and Hailey Smith, and Abby and Mason Robinson and his sisters, Sarah Curtis and Peggy Kelly. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the funeral home with Dr. Ray Haskett officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
