Jack Wright Perkinson, 85, of Petersburg died after an extended illness on Thursday, December 27, 2007. He was the son of the late Claiborne Francis and Mary Frances Perkinson. Jack served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Machinist First Class in the 72 Naval Construction Battalion. He was also a member of the Ettrick American Legion, a member of the Bricklayers Union for over 50 years, and a dedicated and devoted member of St. Josephâ??s Catholic Church for 61 years. He was honored as St. Josephâ??s â??Masonry Manâ? for his voluntary service in the maintenance and renovation of the church. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene Perkinson and is survived by his children, Timmie Sue Ott and her husband, Louis Ott of Clarks Summit, PA, Jacquelyn Krejci of Houston, TX, and Mary Ellen Perkinson of Petersburg, VA; grandchildren, Trey Ott of Wayne, PA, Matthew Ott of Lancaster, PA, Elizabeth Ott of Philadelphia, PA, Randilyn, Melissa and Brittany Krejci of Houston, TX; 6 great-grandchildren and sisters, Catherine Vaiden and Eloise Swann and several nieces and nephews. A Christian wake will be held at St. Josephâ??s Catholic Church on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 6 pm with a visitation to follow. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the church on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Josephâ??s Catholic Church Cemetery with military honors.
