Jack Riffe

Jack Donald Riffe, 73, of Petersburg passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 11, 2008 with his family by his side. Jack was born in Crab Orchard, West Virginia the son of the late Cecil Owen Riffe and Mary Evelyn Riffe. He served in the Air Force for 5 years stationed at Chelveston Air Force Base in England where he met his lovely wife of 50 years, Anne. Jack worked at Fort Lee in the photo lab and DOIM Department for 40 years before retiring in 2003. He was a loving husband, father, friend and to his grandchildren, he was their â??Big Daddyâ?. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Riffe; sister, Wanda Grant and brothers, Tommy and Owen Riffe. He is survived by his wife, Anne Riffe; daughter, Debra Riffe and Victor Lavimodiere; son Alan Riffe and his wife, Beth; granddaughters, Kacy Hitchcock and Katie Riffe; brother, Teddy Riffe and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday, December 15, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the funeral home.
