Jack Yeratt

Jack Yeratt, 87, of Chesterfield, went home to be with his Lord on July 3, 2022.
He was born on December 4, 1934 in Hopewell, VA, the son of the late John and Susie Yeratt.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thomas Yeratt; mother, Susie Yeratt (Cunningham); and father, John Yeratt, Jr.
Jack is survived by his only child and son, Keith Yeratt (Sherry Yeratt); grandson, Christopher Yeratt; granddaughter, Lauren Yeratt; brother, John Percy Yeratt; and sister, Louise Yeratt Stoneberger; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
When Jack was a child, he attended the Presbyterian Church in Hopewell and gave his heart to the Lord at a very young age. He graduated from Hopewell High School and soon enlisted in the Army.
Jack married Shirley in June 15, 1963 and were married for 56 years.
They settled in Chesterfield County, worked locally, and invested in the real estate market.
He worked for many years in heavy equipment and retired from Industrial Maintenance Service Corp.
Jack attended Southside Nazarene Church from 1980 until the Lord called him home.
He was a sweet, kind, generous, and loving man of God, who served the Lord all of his life. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Jack is remembered for being a wonderful father, his faith in the Lord, and the desire to live out his faith. Jack now resides with his Lord and Saviour.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing and celebration of Jack's life at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 West Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 at J.T. Morriss & Son - Chester Chapel. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831.
