Jack Ray Huett, 70, of Sutherland, Virginia, passed away on January 14, 2025. Raised in Ellington, Missouri, he was the son of the late Ray Harvey Huett and Lera Dale Ivie.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Plymouth Rock for 4 years where he attained the rank of BT 3rd class. This ultimately directed his career from which he retired from AES Global Insurance Company as VP Boiler & Machinery Loss Control.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Lynne Huett. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Shanks Huett; his sons, Jeremy Huett (Josephine Huett) and Joel Huett; grandchildren, Hannah Matthews, Sarah Huett, Emma Huett, and Bailey Roberson; sister, Audrey Kellgren (Dan Kellgren); niece, Gabrielle Kellgren; two uncles; and many loving cousins.
Jack loved traveling the world with his work, cheering on the Washington Nationals, hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping, blacksmithing, and playing the guitar.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Murray, officiating. Interment will follow at Mizpah Cemetery, Browns Road, Church Road, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to samaritanspurse.org.
